Job Description

Intermediate / Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Plymouth

An award-winning, multidisciplinary building consultancy is continuing its strong growth and is now looking to appoint an Intermediate or Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its Plymouth office.
With a long-established presence across the UK and beyond, the practice delivers a broad range of services including architecture, building surveying, quantity surveying, project management, civil & structural engineering, building services engineering, fire engineering and town planning. The business is known for its collaborative culture, technical excellence and long-term client relationships.

The Role
Following sustained success and an expanding client base, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing building services team and play a key role in shaping its future.
You’ll be involved in the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to completion. While consultancy experience is welcomed, the team is equally keen to speak with Electrical Contractors or site-based professionals who have strong technical knowledge and are looking to move into a design-focused role.
This position would suit someone who enjoys collaboration, takes pride in technical quality and is keen to develop their career within a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment.

What You’ll Bring
  • A strong technical background in electrical building services engineering
  • Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, Amtech and Dialux, or a genuine desire to learn these tools with full support and training
  • The ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and contribute to team growth
  • An interest in seeing projects through all stages, from early design to handover
What’s On Offer
This consultancy is committed to supporting its people for the long term, offering both professional autonomy and structured development.
Benefits include:
  • Highly competitive salary and benefits package
  • Clear progression opportunities within a growing consultancy
  • Regular training and CPD support
  • Up to 27 days holiday, increasing with length of service
  • Private healthcare
  • Enhanced pension scheme
  • Life cover and critical illness insurance
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Access to a 24/7 employee assistance and counselling service
  • Regular social and team events, including sports and outings
If you’re looking to join a settled, forward-thinking team where your contribution genuinely matters, this role offers an excellent next step.
