Senior Estimator - Bristol
An opportunity has arisen to join a leading construction main contractor for an array of exciting new projects on a permanent basis. As the Senior Estimator, you will report to the Chief Estimator and will lead the production of the prime cost. As the Senior Estimator, you will be required to oversee – as applicable – other Estimators in the bid team to ensure the prime cost captures the programme, methodology and risk profile developed by the bid team. The role requires working autonomously as well as part of a team.

This position will include the following responsibilities:

• Maintain own awareness of current requirements and future developments of Health, Safety and Environmental law affecting construction
• Estimating and the production of project and documentation
• Ensure that all supplier / subcontractor enquiries are sent out in accordance with the Supply Chain Strategy document
• Assist development of other estimating staff
• Present to Senior Management in a clear and concise manner the build-up of the prime cost
• Represent the company at client facing meetings
• Responsible for recording post tender negotiations with the client and actioning any changes to the tender arising therefrom
• Assist the business/project in achieving the objectives/targets set

• Construction related qualification
• Competent use of Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook
• Extensive experience of analytical building estimating in all sectors but to include industrial, commercial, education and healthcare projects
• Knowledge of all forms of contracts
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and other industry standards
• Previous experience within a similar role with a contractor
• Relevant UK driving licence
