Operating across Devon & Cornwall, this established company specialising in Civil Engineering & Groundworks are recruiting for a Buyer to be based in their busy office in the heart of Cornwall. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a company who have built a great reputation and grown impressively over the years now enjoying the market share of their specialist sector.
Due to a number of new sites starting and increase in workload, the group are seeking an experienced Buyer or an Assistant Buyer keen to progress their career. Projects vary and can include residential developments, roads & infrastructure, retaining walls and bulk excavation.
Reporting into a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for procuring materials, sub-contract labour and plant ensuring best quality and price, building good relationships with your supply chain and review and assess new products.
Applicants must have Buying/Procurement experience within the construction sector and good knowledge of the local marketplace. Commercially aware with sound negotiation skills, ability to build rapport and work to deadlines is essential.
