Senior Quantity Surveyor – Plymouth
RGB Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well know and established Tier One Contractor in search for an SQS to join the team on a permanent basis for a brand new commercial multi million-pound scheme. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial support to the project team and surveyors, maintain commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and manage the commercial resources of the assigned project to maximise cashflow.

Responsibilities:

  • To develop and manage the budget in consultation with the regional team
  • To ensure the full and proper implementation of all of the Divisions Commercial Procedures and additionally to ensure the adequacy of sub-contract orders placed
  • To co-operate with the Regions Preconstruction leads and give contractual advice on tender documentation and support services as requested.
  • To encourage all junior staff to achieve their ambitions and to assist in all aspects of their personal professional development
  • To maximise the Divisions cash balance by ensuring the expedient submission of payment applications by junior staff and the monitoring of payment due dates
  • Accountable for project forecasts
 Applicants should possess:
  • To have successfully carried out all commercial management functions on a diverse range of construction projects
  • Experience of managing, mentoring and developing staff
  • Experienced in producing claims and extensions of time documentation
  • Comprehensive understanding of the principles of contract law and knowledge and experience within the construction industry
  • Quantity Surveying qualification
  • Experience in dispute resolution
  • NEC4 Contract knowledge and experience
  • Relevant driving licence
