JOB TITLE:       Youth Development Worker

LOCATION:     Torbay

SALARY:            £14.46 per hour

 

The Employer:

We are looking to fill the role of Youth Development Worker, within a housing environment, As well as meeting housing demand our client aims to enable local companies to recruit the workforce they need from their communities.

Their growth strategy will contribute to economic growth and sustain around 7,000 jobs in the building industry and its supply chain. With a plan to increase stock by 5,000 homes over the next 5 years, providing more affordable housing options on a low-cost rent and sale basis, this employer is a much sought after option, offering benefits and stability alike.

 

The Role:

v  Supporting young people in a Key Worker role.


v  Providing and updating action plans and risk assessments


v  Offering young people in supported accommodation 1-2-1 sessions or supporting group activities


v  Enabling young people to gain the skills needed to live independently in the community


v  Managing own diary and caseload

 

The Candidate will need:


v  A drive to find solutions in supporting young people with a range of backgrounds


v  An understanding of young people’s needs and interests, allowing appropriate actions plans to be made


v  A passion for providing immediate care and support for young people with safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues


v  Having a resilient and flexible nature when dealing with others


v  Being able to work under pressure while producing support plans and meeting deadlines


v  Happy to work alone or in a team player environment.


v  A positive approach, with a can-do attitude whilst maintaining professional boundaries

 

 

SUMMARY:

This role is being offered on a full time, temporary basis.

Working hours to 37 a week, 5 days out of 7 - on a rota (Mon-Sun)

An enhanced DBS adult and child needs to be already held to apply for this role due to the urgency
