JOB TITLE:        Mental Health Support Worker

LOCATION:      Tolvaddon,Cornwall

SALARY FROM: £14.45/hr

 

The Employer:

We are looking to fill the role of Mental Health Support Worker within a housing environment, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable customers.

As well as meeting housing demand our client aims to enable local companies to recruit the workforce they need from their communities.

The Role:

  • Providing support to customers living in the community who have severe and enduring mental health diagnoses
  • Working closely with specialist providers to deliver support to customers, helping them to further independence, access local services, and enjoy being part of their local community
  • Providing appropriate care in line with each customers' personal Support plan
  • Being a Key Person for supporting people with health needs, including addiction
  • Developing and maintaining relationships and being comfortable liaising with referral partners (local Mental Health Teams and Adult Social Care in Cornwall Council)
  • Continuously assessing needs and risks appropriately to ensure the service remains suitable for the customers
  • Ensuring caseload management systems are kept up to date
  • Completing and regularly reviewing Risk Assessments
 


 

The Candidate should have:
  • An understanding of support needs and support planning.
  • Experience of risk assessing and risk management.
  • A great communicator with the ability to develop relationships
  • Accurate record keeping and computer skills
  • Confident in lone working.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of welfare and housing benefits.
  • A full understanding of safeguarding.
 

SUMMARY:

This role is being offered on a full time, 2 Month contract with possibility of extension and will be field based in the Cornwall area.

This role will be offered with an essential car user allowance, as a car is essential and driving between customers is a large part of the role
