A very special structural engineering practice in South Wales is looking to strengthen its internal succession plan with an experience structural engineer.

This person will join at a senior level and is required to bridge the gap between the design team and senior management. This business has a rich history with an excellent reputation, they typically work on a mix of residential and commercial work.

This role presents a very real opportunity to join a hugely successful business and be considered for a Director’s post within 12 months.

What are we looking for?

• Experience as a design lead on the design and delivery of building structures
• Someone who enjoys mentoring and developing junior members of staff
• A people person who would enjoy leading a team and nurturing relationships with stakeholders
• Comprehensive knowledge of the design process

This person will be required to be inspire, lead and manage a talented design team. Whilst there is set templates in place to assist in this task, this person will be free to implement their own strategy tailored to their personal management style.

Responsibilities

• Point of contact for various stakeholders
• Ensuring successful project delivery
• Monitoring and supporting staff performance
• Managing relationships
• Guiding and developing team members
• Providing assistance with technical design queries
