A well-established construction contractor with a strong presence across the region is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join its team and take responsibility for the successful delivery of a new project in Plymouth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a background in internal refurbishment and general construction, who is confident taking ownership of site operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Working closely with the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, coordinating subcontractors and site teams, monitoring progress and maintaining strong relationships with the client and wider project team.
The Role
As Site Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of site activities.
- Supporting the mobilisation and initial set-up of the project, ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place prior to works commencing.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental and welfare across the site.
- Planning and monitoring works against the agreed programme, identifying potential delays and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Managing subcontractors and the wider supply chain to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project requirements.
- Monitoring labour, materials and resources to ensure they are used effectively and in accordance with programme and budget requirements.
- Liaising with the client, consultants and project team, providing regular updates on progress and site performance.
- Maintaining a strong focus on quality, ensuring works are completed to the required specification and addressing any issues promptly.
- Ensuring site documentation, reporting and contractual requirements are maintained throughout the project.
- Promoting a positive and professional site culture, ensuring all parties work to the required standards.
- SMSTS, CSCS card, First Aid at Work certification required.
- Level 3 Risk Assessment qualification desirable.
- PASMA certification desirable.
- Asbestos Awareness training desirable.
- A full UK driving licence required.
- The ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced DBS required.
