The Role:

In this role you will be acting as the main point of contact for clients, site and project managers and making sure that construction projects meet agreed technical standards.  You will be liaising with technical and financial staff, and ensuring co-ordination between Clients, Principal Designers, Designers, Principal Contractors, Contractors, and other Stakeholders.  You will also be responsible for an element of business unit performance like sales targets and customer service levels.  An important part of this role is to succeed in Business Development and you will be supported by the Redstart Portfolio Director and the Operational Associate Director.

 Responsibilities for the role: 

  • As a senior member of the team you will have supervisory or people management responsibility, with a particular emphasis on maximising the performance of those that work in your team.
  • You will responsible for, financial monitoring and control of the contracts, ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance is maintained, and the Company's procedures and objectives are achieved.
  • You will prepare tenders for clients and commercial bids to help bring in new business and managing construction schedules and budgets ensuring the day-to-day operation for NEC3 and NEC4 Term Service Contracts, encompassing all aspects You will oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • A key Section sustainability and growth of not only your team, but the wider Wales offering across Highways, Structures, Rail and Project Management will be key.
About you: 
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Construction Management
  • Extensive experience of managing projects within a civils/water environment
  • Good working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting
  • Knowledge of the NEC3 and/or NEC4 Project Manager and/or Term Service Manager Accreditation contract including the Early Warning and Compensation Event mechanisms
  • Educated as a minimum to HNC/HND/Degree level (or equivalent)
  • CSCS card and SMSTS
  • Experience of Pre-Qualification and Tendering process for a number of multi-discipline projects
  • A strong local network of contacts that can be built upon
  • A sound understanding of the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) 2015 Regulations.
  • Shall have substantial Highways experience and technical skills appropriate to the discipline.
  • UK Driving License
Desirable Requirements
  • Engineering master’s degree in a relevant discipline / Chartered Member a professional body
