I have a unique opportunity for a development manager to join leading social and affordable housing provider in Devon. This company are focussed on giving back to the community and growing the local economy.


The main purpose of the role will be to - lead on facilitating the delivery of key development sites owned by local authority and private sector clients to help regenerate the local economy. You will appoint and manager external consultants to facilitate the delivery of key development sites.


Summary of Duties:

  • You will assist with undertaking of site investigation and master planning for potential developments to benefit the local economy. Assist in all aspects of companies regeneration work and assist in the preparation of external funding bids to regenerate the local economy
  • You will create and implement detailed delivery plans for the regeneration of strategic sites within the local area. Bring forward development on strategic sites identified by the company and their clients. Produce development appraisals, feasibility studies and options appraisals on potential commercial and residential opportunities. To assist in the implementation of any initiatives designed to promote economic growth in the local area. To give presentations to Council members, partners and the public.

Experience and Attributes required for the role:
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Co-ordinating teams of external/and internal stakeholders.
  • Flexible and adaptable communication methods.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or under own initiative.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Able to produce reports
  • Knowledge of appraisal software such as proval or argus (ideally)
  • Ability to prepare option appraisals, feasibility studies and development appraisals
  • Knowledge of residential sector
  • The ability to present reports in a clear and professional manner to a wide range of audiences.
  • The ability to conduct consultation with a variety of stakeholders.

Salary is DOE and will range from a total package of £50k -  £60k DOE plus benefits
