We are now looking for a Chartered Structural Engineer to join an award winning consultancy in Exeter with a considerable share of the local market. This role is unique due to the fact that it could be one of two things depending on what you’d prefer. One option is more closely linked to a management role while the other is more of standalone position.
Option 1:
Design Team Lead
Leading a design team
Chairing design meetings
Liaising between contractors and clients
Project running
Mentoring of junior team members
Aiding in the development and expansion of the design team, actively involved in the recruitment process
Acting as point of contact on structural projects from inception to completion
Option 2:
Standalone Principal Engineer
Acting as the office authority on structural issues and problem solving
Expert witness duties
Report writing
Utilising your experience by running your own small yet complex and challenging projects
Hands on design and site visits
My client is preferably looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
Chartered member of the ICE or IStructE
Experience with software packages such as Tekla suites
Knowledge of BIM
Experience with a variety of building structures
Knowledge of Eurocodes
Experience with all traditional materials such as RC and Steel
This Civil and Structural consultancy handles the design of buildings from a range of sectors including residential and commercial. They are keen to find someone who can lead the design team forward as the company goes through and exciting period of growth. Clients and projects include:
Plymouth Argyle
Exeter City Football Club
Exeter Chiefs
High end one bespoke residential
Underground leisure facilities and swimming pools
Another unique feature of this position is that it is offered on either full time or part time depending on the candidate’s preference. Candidates would be at liberty to choose between a 3, 5 or 5 day working week, salary to be prorated accordingly. On offer is a salary up to £60,000pa depending on experience.
