Job Title: Office Manager
Location: Tavistock, Devon
Salary: £14.00ph
Type: Permanent, Full‑time




 


A leading Contractor is in need of an Office Manager to oversee operations of a busy office. The ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple administrative, HR, financial, and communication tasks seamlessly.




Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare quotes & Invoices
  • Manage HR functions, recruitment, induction, performance & staff development
  • Oversee day‑to‑day office operations, systems, and workflows
  • Supervise administration staff
  • Schedule and coordinate vehicle maintenance and servicing
  • Arrange team meetings and coordinate office events
  • Marketing tasks, advertising and assisting with the company website
  • Develop, implement, and maintain office policies and procedures
  • Communicate with internal teams, clients, and external partners
  • Organise documents & filing systems and company documents


Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience in an office management or administrative role ideally within Construction/Building
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to multitask and prioritise tasks
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
  • HR experience/ Knowledge would be an advantage
  • Good Communication skills
  • Experience supervising staff or managing small teams
  • Proactive, detail‑oriented, and solution‑driven
