The role:
We are seeking bright, energetic and aspirational civil structural engineers to join the team. With sector leading civil and infrastructure design skills and a diverse and growing portfolio of projects from innovative clients there are long term opportunities to sustain and accelerate your career path. What we are looking for:
- You have a passion for civil engineering structures (as opposed to buildings)
- You have experience of: DMRB design of highway structures; bridge design; design of buried
structures; water retaining structures; retaining structures; heavy load pavement design
(airfields/logistics); and temporary works. Don’t worry if you don’t have all these areas
covered
- Motivated by accountability, responsibility and diversity
- You are technically capable, open minded, inquisitive and committed to continuous improvement
- You are a strong communicator, collaborative and empathetic
- Ideally you will be Masters’ Qualified in Civil Engineering and progressing towards or
achieved MICE Chartered status
What you’ll be doing:- Lead and contribute to the design and specification development for a range of civil
engineering structures, working for both contractor clients and client institutions,
understanding permanent and temporary load implications
- Lead and contribute to structural software modelling of designs
- Lead and contribute to the Technical Approving Authority (TAA) and Independent Design
Checking processes
- Collaborate with colleagues, contractors and clients to understand both the commercial,
- operational performance and buildability implications of your designs
- Independently and with Senior support, communicate directly with Clients through project
development stages
- Understand and collaborate with colleagues to measure and record the effects your designs
have to climate change mitigation. Experience of PAS2080 would be beneficial
- Experience of design execution on site during construction beneficial
