Job Details

An opportunity has arisen for a Development Manager to join a not-for-profit organisation on a permanent basis, who are based across Torbay. The client aim to deliverer high quality economic development, property and business services and to make a real difference to the lives of people living and working in the South West of England through innovative and practical programmes in areas including job and business creation.

The Development Manager is a full-time, permanent position across Torbay, and would involve leading on residential and commercial developments from inception to completion, with a particular emphasis on the social housing sector.

Daily responsibilities would typically include:

  • Producing and delivering the Development Programme in accordance with the Development Strategies and Business Plan
  • Ensure that projects are delivered within budget, and to specifications/ timescale
  • Identification of new development opportunities, such as through land acquisitions and working with Homes England to secure funding where appropriate
  • To develop homes of various tenure, such as affordable housing, open market sale units and mixed use sites
  • Responsibility for management and monitoring of the overhead and individual scheme budgets
  • To conduct financial and risk appraisals for potential opportunities
  • To assess and amend the budget regularly and accordingly

Candidate requirements
· Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a related discipline
· Ideally RICS/ CIH qualified
· Ideally Prince2 qualification
· NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification
· A full driving license
