Job Details

The client we are working with are a not-for-profit organisation who work with local authorities and social landlords to provide specialist technical advice and procurement products and services to ensure that publicly funded projects are delivered on time and on budget.

About the role

The position is  as the Group Technical Manager (Energy Efficiency and Sustainability), which would involve leading and providing advice on the development, management and successful implementation of the clients’ specific energy efficiency, decarbonisation and retrofit framework offerings regarding residential properties. The candidate would also act as the subject matter expert regarding energy efficiency, retrofit and achieving net carbon zero, and have a thorough understanding of building regulations and government policy.


Responsibilities

  • To provide high level support and advice to clients on funding schemes and the application process
  • To travel across the UK to visit customers, suppliers or consultants when needed
  • To prepare and deliver presentations to visitors and clients, and participate in influential workgroups and conference speaker opportunities
  • To monitor funding schemes related to energy efficiency, decarbonisation and sustainability, and raise awareness to the relevant parties
  • Evaluate tender submissions received from tenderers
  • To provide training to staff on the technical elements and topics, such as changes to building regulations
  • To develop technical specifications, performance requirements (such as KPIs) and tender evaluation questions to meet agreed programme deadlines
  • To work with regional personnel to collect and report on data regarding the performance of company products in terms of value for money and other KPIs

About the candidate
  • A technical qualification relating to area of technical expertise
  • Ideally MRICS or MCIOB qualified
  • PAS 2035/ 2038 qualification and experience
  • Proven experience as a technical professional within the built environment relating to the energy and performance of the building and reducing carbon emissions
  • Detailed knowledge of legislative and statutory requirements relating to property, construction and housing, with a particular focus on: energy usage, building regulations, planning regulations and performance of the building
  • Understanding of the methodologies and measurements of a buildings energy performance
  • Esperience in evaluating bids and tenders
  • Experience in managing relationships with stakeholders
