Senior Design Engineer

 (Permanent and Temporary Works)


RGB are currently supporting a Global Engineering and Construction contractor in the search to find the very best future talent to join their established design team.

The organisation is involved in some of the largest infrastructure projects across the UK and globally to include HS2 and you could join the team to help them secure the next big bid.

As the Senior Design Engineer, you will be Working in the Technical Services department providing temporary works design and checking services across a broad spectrum of major building and civil projects in addition to reviewing construction methodology and assessing buildability of structures.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Design and detail temporary works, strengthening solutions
  •  Design and justify construction methods
  •  Prepare AIP for temporary works
  •  Perform job risk assessment and design hazard analysis
  •  Liaise with Clients, Checkers and other Engineers
  •  Assist Company Estimators with technical aspects of tenders and drafting
  • Manage design activities by external Engineers.
  •  Manage internal design processes, including assumptions reviews, design, checks, and issuing approved drawings to operation teams and Clients
Required Skills/Experience:
  • A Bachelor or Master’s (preferable) Degree in Structural Civil Engineering
  •  Experience in structural engineer principles and capability to carry out manual calculations.
  •  Experience in designing steel and reinforced concrete structures and temporary works
  •  Experience in designing steel works and connections (bolted and welded)
  •  Experience in temporary works design
  •  A background gained within a consultancy environment, with the willingness to apply this into the practical aspects of construction.
  •  Advanced working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
The role will ideally suit someone who has established themselves within a consultancy environment and is keen to expand their knowledge within Construction and Civil Engineering.
