A Site Engineer is currently required to join a Main Contractor based in the South West of England with some travel between the sites along the M5 between Exeter, Taunton and Bridgewater.
As an organisation they currently work on a number of schemes spanning across Groundwork's, Highways and environmental projects for a variety of public and private clients.
Key Duties:
The main focus of the role is to Support the Section Engineer and provide engineering and quality control for the construction works including maintaining appropriate records.
Your role will also require you to ensure the project site remains compliant with requirements in all aspects of the projects.
Liaise directly with working Site Managers, Project Managers.
Mentor younger and less experienced Apprentice Engineers.
Setting out with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
Assist with quality control to ensure the standards are met=with the design specifications
Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site
Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Degree Qualification in Civil Engineering
Experience working in the bridge replacement field
Good knowledge of construction industry and standards construction techniques
Basic knowledge of commercial and contractual requirements.
Working knowledge of subcontractor scopes of work.
