Opportunity for a Team Leader to join Plymouth Council’s Environmental Operations frontline management team.
The role will be overseeing the heart of the city cleansing team who work throughout the city centre and waterfront area.
You will be managing a dedicated team, their vehicles and equipment as well as engaging with internal and external partners.
Responsibility for overseeing the majority of front line services covering a diverse range of activities from waste and recycling, street cleansing, open spaces to our cemeteries and crematorium.
Implement all Council policies, strategies and procedures for the management and commercial operations of environmental services with a focus on delivering high quality cost effective services, and improving the satisfaction of residents, visitors, customers, businesses and members with the standard of services we provide
You will need to be a strong leader with a proven track record of transforming key frontline services with a flair for managing people, engaging and supporting your teams and the ability to develop and sustain a culture that puts customers first.
Hours are 37 hours a week Mon-Thursday and will involve rota of 6am starts and some cover at weekends.
They are looking for someone initially for 6-9 months with the opportunity for a permeant position.
