Civil Engineering Main Contractor


RGB are currently supporting a Global Construction and Civil Engineering Tier 1 Main contractor to assist them in sourcing the very best talent within Civil Engineering.


 


As a company they currently deliver, design and build projects across Highways, Groundworks, Rail, Structures, Buildings, Infrastructure and Construction.


 


Due to continued success as an opportunity has been created for a General Foreman to join the Southwest team to deliver a number civils schemes such as earthworks, concrete and drainage works for local authorities.


 


 As the General Foreman you manage a team as well as sub-contractors to construct the works safely, to programme and to the required quality standards reporting to the Senior PM.


 


They are renowned for their expertise within construction currently supporting some of the biggest projects in the UK to include HPC, HS2, Crossrail as well as a number of design and build jobs.


 


They are looking to recruit a General Foreman that can perform a technical and supervisory role to work as part of the site management team, sharing responsibility for site security, health and safety and more.


 


Day to day duties will include:


 

  • Direct the work of operatives and sub-contractors
  • Ensure environmental systems are implemented satisfactorily
  • Contribute to preparation of programme
  • Plan and order materials and plant to achieve programmes
  • Keep daily records of work carried out
  • Ensure that works proceed in accordance with site programmes
  • Ensure all plant on site is suitable for the task and conforms to current legislation
  • Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.
 


Due to the nature of the projects the successful candidate must have demonstratable experience of the following criteria:
  • An industry applicable qualification
  • Demonstrable civil engineering experience within heavy civils
  • Experience of working on large scale Civil Engineering projects
  • Previous experience in management or supervisory roles
  • Competent understanding of Health & Safety regulations
  • Full driver's license
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
