Senior Quantity Surveyor – Bridgwater

An opportunity to join a reputable regional building contractor has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established team on a permanent basis!

This South West based building contractor prides themselves on delivering first class, innovative projects whether new build, refurbishment or restoration. Having experienced great expansion over the last few years, they are keen to continue to build their commercial team and due to an increase in workload, are ready to recruit.

With a number of schemes already on site and about to start, the company are actively looking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.

As part of the commercial team and reporting into Head of Commercial, you will be involved in schemes from tender award to final account with typical contract values ranging from £5-15m.


Skills:

• To maximise the commercial efficiency of the project whilst reducing the risk profile
• Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required measurement, valuation, and agreement of work sections
• Preparation of tender enquires for subcontract works packages and analysis of tender returns
• Preparation of Valuations/Application for payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.

• Minimum of HNC or equivalent in construction
• Experience of main contracting/£mm projects/NEC/JCT
• Strong written, oral communication skills and negotiation
• Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office and Project
