Are you an experienced Housing Officer looking for a unique and rewarding new opportunity? One that offers job security and a better work life balance?

A diverse, local organisation with a secure flow of work due to their varied property portfolio across Exeter, Torbay & Plymouth are looking to strengthen their team with a professional, experienced and adaptable Housing Officer.

Working out of their impressive head office, a quirky listed building in the heart of the Exeter; you will become a key member of the Property Services team, which forms part of the wider team made up of 70 staff which manage and provide support to the estate which consists of housing, accommodation, schools and land.

Working closely with the Director of Property, Building Surveyors and the Accounts team, You will be responsible for a range of duties including:

  • Arranging inspections and surveys of properties
  • Specifying and instructing reactive repairs and maintenance works
  • Reviewing and reporting on costings
  • Preparing tender and contract documentation for works
  • Reviewing energy efficiency measures
  • Liaising with tenants and contractors ensuring access and minimal disruption
  • Working with letting agents, legal teams and stakeholders on property matters
The organisation are looking to appoint an organised and efficient individual with previous experience in a Housing Officer or Building/Estate Management position. You should have sound technical building/construction understanding and a high regard for Health & Safety. With excellent communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships, you will have up to date property legislation knowledge and be fully IT literate.
