The organisation that we are working with are a not-for-profit, operating in Bodmin, who offer affordable housing across Cornwall.
The position as a Building Surveyor is on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week across a patch of Cornwall. This would be to deliver a high quality maintenance service to customers through the provision of professional technical advice, and project and contractor management.
Responsibilities
To carry out pre-inspections and building surveys to identify defects, and ensure appropriate remedial works are conducted
Provide technical advice on building defects and diagnosis to the organisation and responsive repair service
Manage all assigned cases from inception to completion whilst ensuring that the appropriate stakeholders and databases are updated regularly
Ensure budget responsibilities are met and undertake cost estimations
Ensure forecasting and efficiency plans are met
Prepare and present reports for managers
Participate in contract meetings and briefings
Manage a range of contractors and ensure they meet their KPI’s
Manage external relationships with local authorities and suppliers
About the person
Minimums level 4 surveying qualification, such as HNC/ HND or equivalent
Ideally RICS/ CIOB but not essential
Experience of building surveying and maintenance
Experience in managing and extensive and varying caseload from inception to completion
